http://www.merriam-webster.com/ A note with added information that is placed below the text on a printed page. Someone or something that is remembered or regarded as a minor or unimportant part of an event, work, etc. The meaning of FOOTNOTE:

Ibid.  (abbreviation for the Latin  Ibidem , meaning "The same").  Refers to the same author and source ( e.g. , book, journal) in the immediately preceding reference. What is ibid. ?

To indicate the same source as in the footnote immediately above. If referring to a different page number write ibid. Use of ibid.
