2. An image is a representation of the reality The relationship between an image and reality is called iconicity The iconicity has different grades and there are images with more likeness with reality

3. Here we can see some images of human figure with different levels of iconicity . From more realistic to abstract shape

The first image shows the highest level of iconicity in a realistic color photography , the second one an unrealistic colored photograph , next a cartoon , a cubist painting by Picasso, an articulated mannequin , toilet symbols, an image in which a face is guessed , ending with a prehistoric image of the human figure (Indalo Almeria ).
