VIDEO WATCHING 1. What will you do while watching a video?
VIDEO WATCHING
GROUP ACTIVITY: ‘BUILD ME UP!’ Direction: The group leader will get the activity sheet and material/s to be used. All member of the group must analyze the instruction written on the activity sheet. Put the given material/s on its proper place on the circuit board.
GROUP 1 I am a source of energy. You can call me battery. Put me inside the box located at the left part of the circuit board.
GROUP 2 I am the load s /bulb s . Put me inside the box located at the right side of the circuit board.
GROUP 3 I am a black connecting wire with alligator clips. Place me on the upper part of the battery and bulb s .
GROUP 4 Position one red connecting wire below the battery and another red connecting wire below the bulb s .
GROUP 5 Connect the alligator clip of the upper wire to the terminal of bulb holder and the alligator clip of the lower wire on the other terminal of the bulb holder.
GROUP 6 Connect the alligator clip of the upper wire to the terminal of battery and the alligator clip of the lower wire on the other terminal of the battery.
1. What are the materials that we used in the construction of circuit? 2. Why are the bulb s not working?
Which materials make the bulb produce light? -Copper wire -tissue paper - aluminum foil -barbecue stick
GROUP ACTIVITY: “LET’S INVESTIGATE!” 1. Open the box. 2. Using the illustration, construct an improvised electrical conductivity tester. 3. Test all the materials in the box then answer the activity sheet by putting a check. 4. If the lamp lights, it is conductor, if not, it is an insulator.
GROUP ACTIVITY: “LET’S INVESTIGATE!” 1. Checking of outputs. 2. What are the conductors made of? 3. What are the insulators made of?
CONCEPTS 1. Conductors are materials that allow electricity to flow through them. 2. Metals are good conductor of electricity. 3. Materials that do not allow electricity to pass through them are called insulators . 4. Materials that are made of plastic, cloth, leather, glass, oil, paper, and rubber are insulators.
Think-Pair-Share: “What am I?” Direction: When your pair is selected by the “Wheel of Fortune”, distinguish the picture posted on the television whether it is a conductor or insulator.
INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY: TRUE OR FALSE? DIRECTION: Read each sentence then analyze if it is true or false. Key in your answer on the laptop.

APPLICATION
Your younger brother and sister are playing near the electric socket. They have lots of toys that made up of metal and iron. You knew that these are good conductors of electricity. What should you do to avoid accident that involve electric shock?
GENERALIZATION 1. What have you learned from our lesson? 2. What kind of materials conduct electricity? 3. What are conductors made of?
EVALUATION
HOME ACTIVITY Compile a list of materials that are conductors found in the kitchen. Have them create a flyer for the local community that describes which of these items are safe to use around electrical appliances and which are not.
