Served as an ambassador to Washington Received 29 honorary degrees Honored with Pulitzer prize award Elected as the president of the united nations general assembly.

3. I am a Filipino – inheritor of a great past... I sprung from a hardy race... This is the land they sought and found... This land I received in trust from them and in trust will pass it to my children... In my blood runs the immortal seed of heroes... That seed is immortal.. The seed I bear within me is an immortal seed. It is the mark of my personhood, the symbol of dignity as a human being.
