Slide Content

The two parts of the image formation process
•The geometry of image formation which determines where in the
image plane the projection of a point in the scene will be located.
•The physics of light which determines the brightness of a point in the
image plane as a function of illumination and surface properties

•IMAGE LOCATION is the location in space where all the reflected
light appears to diverge from.
•VIRTUAL IMAGES are images that are formed in locations where light
does not actually reach
•REAL IMAGES are formed on the same side of the mirror as the
object and light passes through the actual image location.

IMAGE CHARACTERSTICKS
1.Virtual Image
2.Laterally inverted
3.Image formed behind the mirror
