Fayol's Principles of Management or Administration 1. Division of work Specialization for all kinds of work to develop expertise. Tasks should be divided up. Eg . Department of Nursing, Department of Pharmacy etc. 2. Authority, responsibility and accountability. 3. Discipline: Proper observance of the rules, regulations, norms, decorum, manners, code of ethics and respects.

Fayol's Principles of Management or Administration…… 4. Unity of command One employee one boss . 5. Unity of direction One plan and one head for a group of activities having one objective. 6. Subordination of individual interests to general interest Narrow selfish interest should overcome or turn to common and broad interest of the organization for its welfare. Eg . Collective bargaining (More salary, More production )

Fayol's Principles of Management or Administration…… 7. Remuneration Fair policy for payment to the personnel justifying workload, job hazard, efficiency and quality of performance. 8. Centralization Some amount of greater and larger authority resting with top level managers. 9. Scalar Chain of command There is a link of directional instructions from the top level to the lowest rank of organizational members in the hierarchy. 10. Order Proper systematic arrangement of everything (Staffs and materials) 11. Equity Fair and impartial treatment to all workers irrespective of their jobs.

Fayol's Principles of Management or Administration…… 12. Stability of Tenure of Personnel Job security to reduce turn over. Eg Bonus, Insurance 13. Initiative Encourage subordinate’s initiative 14. Esprit de corps Union is strength, Team Spirit, sense of belonging.
