INDIA
Facts
India has emerged as tourism powerhouse over the recent years and is the 8th
largest country in terms of contributionto travel and tourism GDP.
The top 10 sources countries accounted for 65.80% of Bangladesh (21.49%) US
(13.72%) UK (9.83%)CANADAand AUSTRALIA. The introduction of E visa has
led to a strong surge in foreign tourist arrival since its launch in sep2014 .this
scheme has been extendedto citizens from 166 countriesfor visit to indiathrough
28 international airports and 5 sea ports .

6. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT
FOR INDIA?
•As everybody knows thatindia is developing country and this is
also the fact that tourism sector plays very imp. Role in
development of any country . If we see inbound tourism as an
opportunity then we will find that tourism contains a lot profits
and benefits. We can take example of some developed country
which took help of tourism in their development . Now I would
like to discuss about the benefits which make inbound tourism
important for india . Very first benefit is that it generate revenue
for govt. As income from abroad is also the part of national income
so it will increase the GDP of our country. Second one is that it
will develop the infrastructure of the country . Third one and most
important is that it will provide the employment to the people of
the country . If we see the rank of india in unemployment rate in
the world than it positionis 88th and that is very high. That’s how
the things are interconnected so inbound tourism is very importnt
for india for its betterment and a good position of country.

So we are taking an example of MALAYSIA how to
increase inbound tourism market in indiafrom
malaysia, malaysiais the islamfollowed country but
19.8 % are buddhismso we can attract more
tourists through promotion of our buddhistssites .
India is the origin place of buddhism. Wildlife
tourism, adventure tourism, rural tourism ,folk
tourism.
These are tourism in which indiais rich . We have
to do give awaysfor malaysiantourists.
We can promote our indiancuisines by adding
some malaysiantouch in our food .hospitality is the
important factor for any tourist so they can feel
familiar or feel comfortable with indians.
All tourist whether they from malaysiaor from
other country they just want great hospitality
Comfort and good budget itinerary.

aggressive promotional campaign to
attract domestic as well as foreign
tourists. The state has been
organisingroadshows overseas and
participating in travel and tourism
events at the global level. Further
, the departmenthas been
promoting various fairs and
festivals of rajasthanwhich
provide unique experience to
tourists . As you see in the picture

attraction is its 953 windows allow
royal ladies to watch the daily
drama ofthestreets.Prepandemic
approximately 52 million tourists
arrival recorded in rajasthanwhile
foreign tourist arrival accounted
for 1.6 million.
