The Clash of Two Great Kingdoms: The Incas and the Chancas Long ago, in the Andean highlands, two powerful kingdoms, the Incas and the Chancas , ruled over vast territories. The Incas were more organized and peaceful , while the Chancas were stronger warriors and more aggressive . Their cultures, leaders, and ambitions led them to one of the greatest battles in Andean history .

The Incas: The Most Organized and Strategic Kingdom The Incas were led by Viracocha Inca , who was wiser and more cautious than most rulers. While his people were building great cities like Cusco, he was expanding the empire through diplomacy. The Incas were more advanced in agriculture than the Chancas , using terraced farming and irrigation systems. However, when the Chancas began invading Inca territory, Viracocha Inca was hesitating . Instead of defending Cusco, he fled to the mountains, leaving his son, Pachacutec , to face the enemy. Pachacuti was the bravest and most intelligent of the Inca leaders. While the Chancas were approaching , he was preparing an unexpected counterattack

The Chancas : The Fiercest and Most War-Oriented Kingdom The Chancas were more feared than the Incas because they were the most ruthless warriors in the region. Their leader, Anccu Hualloc , was more aggressive and less diplomatic than Viracocha Inca. While the Incas were focusing on administration and farming, the Chancas were training for war. Their warriors were known for their brutal attacks, and their army was larger than the Inca forces . In 1438, they marched toward Cusco, expecting an easy victory. While the Chancas were celebrating , believing the Incas would surrender, Pachacuti was secretly gathering an army.
