HISTORY OF INDIAN OIL CORPORATION INDIAN OIL CORPORATION LTD. is the largest commercial enterprise . I.O.C.L. was incorporated on 30th June ,1959 under the name and style of the Indian oil company. With a view to coordinating the activities of the Indian refiners .,Ltd., and Indian oil company , Ltd., the two were amalgamated on 1 st September ,1964, to form a new corporation , the Indian oil corporation Ltd. Indian Refineries , Ltd., was merged with the company . The capital after amalgamation was Rs.34,97,25,000. Later 92,897 shares subscribed for by Government . On 25th March ,1963 a new company was floated under the name and style of Indian Oil Blending Ltd., to undertake the erection .

OBJECTIVES OF I.O.C.L. To serve the national interests in oil and related sectors in accordance and consistent with Government policies . To ensure maintenance of continuous and smooth supplies of petroleum products by way of crude oil refining , transportation and marketing activities and to provide appropriate assistance to consumers to conserve and use petroleum products efficiently. To enhance the country’s self – sufficiency in crude oil refining and build expertise in laying of crude oil and petroleum product pipelines . To optimum utilisation of refining capacity and maximize distillate yield and gross refining margin. To earn a reasonable rate of return on investment .

PRODUCTS OF I.O.C.L. There are various products serve by I.O.C.L. to our society . There are few products which I.O.C.L. provides in everywhere : Main Products : Petroleum or Heavier products : PETROL - Light Distillates DIESEL - Middle Distillates TURBINE - Furnace Oil AUTO L.P.G. - Bitumen
