The primary objective of our industry visit to DCB Bank was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational dynamics of a mid-sized private sector bank in India. This involved examining various banking functions, technological advancements, and customer service strategies, as well as understanding the bank's role in the broader economic and financial system.

DCB Bank, originally known as Development Credit Bank, is a modern emerging new-generation private sector bank with 400 branches across India. Headquartered in Mumbai, the bank has made significant strides in retail, corporate, SME, and agriculture banking segments. DCB Bank is known for its robust digital banking initiatives and customer-centric approach, aiming to provide seamless banking experiences through a blend of traditional and modern banking solutions.

Founding and Evolution
DCB Bank's origins trace back to the 1930s when it was incorporated as Ismailia Co-operative Bank Limited and the Masalawala Co-operative Bank. These two banks were merged to form Development Credit Bank in the 1980s. INTRODUCTION It was organised by the Bengal Institute of Business Studies for the MBA (Finance ) 1 st semester in order to enhance their practical knowledge regarding the GOLD LOAN On 09 /02/2024, we initiated our visit to the DCB BANK at 04 :00 p m and reached 42/1b Gariahat Rd, Dhakuriya South End Park, Ward Number 90, Kolkata, West Bengal 700029 We meet the Business Head Mr Pankaj Chowdhury and the staff of the organization who gave a warm welcome to the students.
WHAT IS GOLD LOAN? A secured loan taken by the borrower from a lender by pledging their gold articles [ withen a range of 18-24 carats] as collateral. The loan amount provided is a certain percentage of the goald , typically upto 80% based on the current market value and quality value and quality of gold.

Conclusion Industrial visits are a value-added learning method for professional students. The visit helped us to gain practical experience of how the industry work proceeds and is executed. Industrial visits also seem to present networking opportunities for the student with the company’s HR. It increases the opportunities for internships, placements, etc., for students. Therefore, industry visits are an excellent way to gain the maximum amount of practical and technical knowledge on our area of interest.
