History says that Auguste Comte, father of sociology developed an interest in observing and studying the society during the time of the industrial revolution. The Industrial Revolution followed on the heels of the French Revolution, unfolding in Western Europe throughout the 1800s

They worked long hours, were poorly nourished and lived in overcrowded conditions, which led to disease and stress. Comte looked at the extensive changes brought about by the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution and tried to make sense of them.
