The PCMs make use of the latent heat, which can be stored or discharged from material over a small temperature range and volumetric expansion during the melting and solidification process, respectively. Though the process of phase change may take place in various phase combinations, the most pragmatic phase changes for PCM applications are solid-liquid (Melting) and liquid-solid (Solidification)In recent years, the dispersion of nanoparticles in PCMs has attracted significant attention from the scientific field due to unequalled characteristics like enhancement in the thermal conductivity and heat transfer rate and appreciable melting rate. As compared with the single nanoparticles, the hybrid nanoparticles are expected to have broader applications in antibacterial, biomedicine, storage of energy, catalysis, electronics, etc. Hybrid nanoparticles made up of two or more metals can furnish novel properties which may not be present in single nanoparticles.
