UED - Distance Learning Unit

The Distance Learning Unit is constituted as
a unit interacting both at national and
international level within its universe. It
develops activities in the systematic use of
information technologies, promotion of an
educational model aiming at direct services
and student follow up.
FOR.CET
This unit develops programs called
“Specialized Technological Courses” – level
IV. This programs aims to promote the
qualification and the integration into working
life, as well as to allow students to go further
in their studies. They are, formaly, post-
secundary non higher education studies.

FUNCTIONAL UNITS
SOCIAL SERVICES (SAS)
The IPL’s Social Services helps students with
financial difficulties by granting them
scholarships and accomodation. It also grants
catering service at low price, leisures and top-
level sports, student health service, day care
and Kindergarten, and leisure park.

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES (SAPE)
The SAPE is located in all IPL’s Campi and
aims to support all students on academic,
vocational, affective and social level. It
welcomes the students and facilitates their
integration and adaptation to the Institute and
respective city, besides helping to control their
anxiety and deal with adverse situations.

Information Center

The Technology Transfer Information Center
is a structure service to support companies in
order to promote and create technology
transfer between universities and companies.
Entrepreneurial Centre
The Entrepreneurial Centre was set up by the
IPL to promote technological
entrepreneurship within the IPL environment,
by promoting activities to develop an
entrepreuneurial culture, and to support and
follow up innovative proposals.
