Management information system (MIS) Integrated health information management system (IHIMS), Logistics Management Information System (LMIS), Financial Management Information System (FMIS), the Health Infrastructure Information System (HIIS), Planning and Management of Assets in Health Care System (PLAMAHS), Human Resource Information System ( HuRIS ), Training Information Management System (TIMS), Ayurveda Reporting System (ARS) and Drug Information Network (DIN).

Source of information management information systems (MISs), disease surveillance systems, vital registration & censuses, sentinel reporting & surveys, rapid assessments and research.

IHMIS Established in 1993 to integrate all health programme in one place. Integrated Health Information Management System (IHIMS) section under DOHS plays a crucial role in managing health related routine service data and information from FCHVs to federal level. It serves as a foundation for monitoring, evaluation, and planning across all three tiers of government: federal, provincial and local levels. IHIMS coordinates among all three tiers of government, ensuring an integrated platform available for collecting, collating, analyzing, visualization, dissemination and storage of health information derived by the national health system

Milestone On HMIS Tools Development In 2050 BS HMIS was established under policy planning and monitoring division of DoHS . in 2052: HMIS implementation. In 2064 : HMIS software developed for reporting from districts & piloted for four years in Lalitpur, Parsa, & Rupandehi (2064-2068). In 2068 : online data entry of districts integrated monthly reporting. In 2070 : HMIS, MOHP & partner team visit Chandhigardh & Simla, India to observe DHIS-2 & electronic medical record. In 2071 : introduction to DHIS-2 & also started web based online data entry software.

In 2073 : all districts health office started HMIS online reporting through DHIS-2. In 2076 : DHIS-2 expanded to all local level government(LLG). In 2079: HMIS tools revished. In 2079/080: HMIS roadmap developed. Now 68 recording tools & 5 reporting tools developed for 9 health programme.

Objectives of HMIS To monitor the achievement, coverage, continuity & quality of health programme. To provide access to data information to concerned authorities on time. To help assessing progress towards goal and targets of districts health programme. To support planning, monitoring and evaluation of all health programme. To provide necessary information to policy maker to develop health policy and guidelines. To publish comprehensive annual report.

Importance of HMIS For periodic revision of objectives of health programme Planning, monitoring & evaluation Allocation of resources and budgets effectively and efficiently Forecasting For effective management of health programme Timely warnings about emerging health problems Establish uniform and continuous reporting system from government and non governments services providers. Disseminate health information through efficient methods.

Way forward Quality of recording and reporting data should be improved. Strengthening of monitoring and evaluation HMIS officer for data management at local government HMIS officer at all health office instead of medical recorder at province level.
