INTRODUCTION PRIMAVERA is an enterprise project portfolio management software developed by Oracle Corporation. It offers a comprehensive suite of tools for project management, scheduling, risk analysis, resource management, collaboration, and control. 3 ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

INTEGRATION OF PRIMAVERA FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT Primavera offers comprehensive features, integrates smoothly with systems like Oracle and SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). It has a strong reputation for improving efficiency and collaboration in construction projects. Application of Primavera streamlines our water tank construction project , ensuring it stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards . 4 ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

NEED OF PRIMAVERA IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS In today's construction industry, smart project management is essential. Water tank projects, in particular, demand precise planning, scheduling, and communication to ensure timely completion, cost control, and quality assurance. 5 ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane LOCATION : WAGHBIL (ELEVATED SERVICE RESERVOIR)

To Execute Construction Management Of A Water Tank By Integrating Primavera 6 AIM ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

7 ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane To maximize resource utilization, encompassing labor, materials, and equipment, it is imperative to mitigate delays and enhance cost-effectiveness. To have immediate access to data and precise reporting is vital for well-informed decision-making and ensuring efficient project management. To implement robust cost control strategies is essential to avoid exceeding budgets and ensure the project's financial sustainability. To ensure timely completion of water tank construction is critical to maintaining uninterrupted water supply, safeguarding communities and industries dependent on this essential resource. OBJECTIVES

Despite recognition of Primavera's potential for improving project management, there's a lack of specific research on its application to water tank projects Current literature mostly covers its general benefits but overlooks its tailored use in this context. This gap calls for studies exploring how Primavera can address the unique challenges and optimize outcomes in water tank construction. Bridging this gap will offer valuable insights for industry practices and decision-making. 8 RESEARCH GAP ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

10 PRIMAVERA & MS PROJECT COMPARISON SR.NO FEATURE PRIMAVERA (Developed Countries) MS PROJECT (Developing Countries) 1 Database Primavera is a project management software that w orks with multiple types of databases. MSP Works with file format in stand-alone mode or with SQL database in EPM mode . 2 Multi-user access It supports unique ID features and helps projects using ID systems. Allows multiple users to work on a single project at the same time. It enables multiple users to work on a project and specify the features required to use. It does not support unique ID features, and activity ID is based on the positions of the activity but a llows multiple users to work on an online database (using Microsoft Project Server). It does not enable multiple user access to work on a single project. 3 Activity steps Primavera simplifies complex tasks into smaller, manageable parts within the Gantt Chart interface. Easily create sub-activities with defined start and finish dates to organize tasks effectively. It does not allow such a function of creating sub-activities. It allows flexible activity control in which the individual activities can be moved from the position to positions to display. ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

11 PRIMAVERA & MS PROJECT COMPARISON SR.NO FEATURE PRIMAVERA (Developed Countries) MS PROJECT (Developing Countries) 4 Multi-activity relationships It supports creating multiple activity relationships where more than one type of relationship can be made between the activities. It does not support such a feature, but it can establish one type of relationship between activities. 5 Assigning Relationships Allows the user to assign logic directly to the Gantt chart or in predecessors/successors columns. Either create relationships in the Gantt view with a click and drag feature or with Predecessor/Successors tabs. 6 Baselines Assignments Multiple projects creation, Multiple project tracking, multiple projects or WBS comparisons, cost and unit calculations are possible. Multiple baselines can be created on project or task level and viewed in a specially created view called Multiple Baseline Gantt. Costs and unit calculations are possible. ©New Horizon Institute of Technology and Management, Thane

12 PRIMAVERA & MS PROJECT COMPARISON SR.NO FEATURE PRIMAVERA (Developed Countries) MS PROJECT (Developing Countries) 7 Tracking and Comparing Multiple projects creation, Multiple project tracking, multiple projects or WBS comparisons, cost and unit calculations are possible. I t allows issue and risk recording. Multiple projects can be created and viewed. It lacks this feature of recording issues and risks of a project. 8 WBS WBS is created separately from the activities with its own codes for each level. WBS levels and activities are all the same, you can even link an activity to a WBS level. 9 Expenses It allows users to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to add the activities. In MS Project, activities are made to appear like WBS. 10 Import/Export Function Communicate project data with other applications. Supports different file formats for importing and exporting.
