Interpreting the Brief My brief is to create a product that highlights talent in the region, the product can either be a short film/documentary between 10 to 20 minutes, or a print product like a poster. The target audience is between 16 and 25, the main goal of the project is to spread cultural awareness and diversity. The client is Sunderland Culture for their Bright Lights: Northern Talent exhibition, which is a mixed media exhibition that highlights northern talent. Issues that could occur during this project could include issues with the weather such as raining during a shoot, issues with the equipment being used such as forgetting to charge the camera batteries before a shoot. I could also experience issues to obtain needed equipment as there is a limited number of cameras and microphones to use.
My idea for the brief is a documentary revolving around fossil discoveries in the Northeast and Sunderland area. I have begun researching different discoveries in or around Sunderland, I am aiming for the documentary to be a minimum of 15 minutes. The reason I want to create a palaeontology documentary is because I have a strong interest in prehistory, and I want to highlight frequently overlooked finds in the area, I would also like to experiment with reconstructions using art or models. My ideas
Possible Filming Issues When filming my project, I could experience issues that prevent me from filming such as the weather not being suitable for example rain or snow which could impact how much I am able to film that day, to avoid this problem I could record indoors and try to record when the weather is better. If I am filming and my camera’s battery is low, I could bring a spare battery so that I can continue filming. If I am editing and I want to rerecord my audio, I can rerecord in the room next to my class or I could record in my house when no one is in.
