2. INTRODUCTION TO CHILD HEALTH INTRODUCTION:- The term “pediatrics” is drive from the Greek word, “ Pedia ” means child, “ iatrike ” means treatment and “ ics ” means branch of science. Thus, pediatrics means the science of child care and scientific treatment of childhood disease. Pediatrics synonmous with child health.

3. DEFINITION Pediatrics can e defined as the branch of medical science that deals with the care of children from conception to adolescence in health and illness. It is concerned with preventive, promotive , curative and rehabilitative care of children.
