Ethics and Social Responsibility Ethics can be defined as individual, occupational, organizational, or societal morals and values, while social responsibility is the practical application of ethical concerns for the benefit of society as a whole.
How is Ethics related to Social R esponsibility? Social responsibility is an E thical T heory in which individuals are accountable for fulfilling their civic duty , and the actions of an individual must benefit the whole of society. In this way, there must be a balance between economic growth and the Social welfare of society and the environment . Ethical T heory Ethical Theory is the set of moral guidelines or principles which help people to make the right or justifiable decisions in their lives. It is like a compass to tell us the direction what to do or where to go.... actions Ethical Theories are concerned with what is good for individuals and society and is also described as moral philosophy. Moral philosophy is the branch of philosophy that contemplates/explains what is right and wrong.
Social Responsibility is our obligation toward the society, world and Universe.
Social Responsibility Social responsibilities or obligations are assisting society to achieve the cherished/desired values for the society at present and also for new generations for the sustainability of culture and development. There are four key aspects of social responsibility : ethical, legal, economic and philanthropic.(Social Responsibility Model)
Some of the most common examples of Social Responsibility include Fair dealing. Charitable giving. Volunteering in the community. Actions which benefit the environment. (No wastage and conservation) Socially and environmentally conscious awareness.

The Social Welfare A social welfare is the assistance provided to individuals and families in need to raise their livin g standard. Assistance may include health care assistance, food, and unemployment compensation. S ocial welfare system may also include disaster relief and educational assistance.
T he E nvironment Is the surroundings or conditions in which individuals, families, and communities, animals , or plants live or operate. The natural environment encompasses all living and non-living things occurring naturally, meaning in this case not artificial. The term is most often applied to the Earth or some parts of Earth and even universe .
