Introduction The Industrial Revolution was a process of profound economic, social, cultural and technological transformations that took place between 1760 and 1840, and originated in England. This marked a before and after in the history of mankind, especially because its impact extended to all areas of society: advances in transportation, improved productivity and increased per capita income. In short, it meant the creation of technological and scientific innovations that represented a break with the socioeconomic structures that had existed up to that time.
What is the origin? A n era of profound and radical economic, social and technological transformations that began in 18th century Europe, specifically in England, and spread throughout Europe and the United States, ending in the mid-19th and early 20th centuries.
The steam engine was the basis for all the development that came about as a result of the Industrial Revolution. This invention was possible thanks to the existence of fuels such as coal and iron. Along with this, other factors made it possible for the Industrial Revolution to emerge, develop in England and give rise to important changes that had a great impact on society . What is the origin?
Causes of the Industrial Revolution Renaissance The Renaissance of European culture after the Middle Ages and its entry into the Modern Age, which represented a new appreciation of science and knowledge, now free of religion, centered rather on human reason. Liberal thinking, which prevailed in nations of non-absolutist monarchies, was influenced by Protestantism and the need to produce one's own consumer goods. Capitalism was also a trigger, which had already begun to take hold thanks to the bourgeois revolutions and the abandonment of the Old Regime. Capitalism Liberalism
Consequences Mechanized production led to a decline in craftsmanship. This new form of production led to the displacement of workshops by large manufacturing centers. Mechanization of labor and large factories
With the expansion of large industrial production centers, a new social class was created: the proletariat. The characteristics of these workers, concentrated in these spaces, broke with the nature of the workers of previous times. Consequences Changes in economic structure and society
Cities began to grow in a very important way. The arrival of rural population to the cities was one of the most notorious consequences of the Industrial Revolution. Consequences Growth of cities and rural flight
