•Now a days Ireland has the
highest percentage of regular
church goers in Western Europe.
•Most of the churches in Ireland
are Catholic.
•A huge percentage of Ireland's
population is Roman Catholic,
92%.

There is still many other religions
in Ireland such as: Protestant
which 3% of the population claim
to be. The rest of the population
either have no religious beliefs or
are believers of Muslim, Jew,
Jehovah’s Witnesses, and
Orthodox.

•Most of Ireland has become Catholic
along with the rest of Eastern Europe.
•This has tremendously strengthened the
Catholic Church.
•Also after a decade of the church
attendance going down, it has started to
raise. Leaving Ireland as the highest
attendance rate.

•In Ireland there is no discrimination based
upon what religion you believe in.
•There has only been a few incidents in which
someone vandalized two Jewish cemeteries,
but they say that they were isolated incidents
that do not reflect the entire community.

•The Ireland Muslim community has been
growing fast lately, but there are still only
about 30,000.
•After September 11 it was said that there
was an Al Quaeda fundraiser and Ireland
was the base.
•There has been no racial happenings
because of this.

•Ireland’s finest old churches is The Church
of Ireland.
•It was established and the only place of
religion in Ireland in the 1700’s.
•Sadly it is suffering a steady loss of
membership.

•In Ireland the catholic church has been the
main provider of education.
•Half of all the Irish attend the church mass
every week.
•The Catholic church has become less
commanding.
