2. Isobutane Isobutane is a hydrocarbon gas and is a branched chain of Butane. Isobutane is considered to be an alkane because all of the carbon atoms are linked with a single bond. The formula for Isobutane is C4H10, Butane and Methyl propane are often referred to as synonyms for Isobutane . Because Isobutane is an isomer of Butane, many feel that this is much more environmentally friendly.

3. Health Risks Health wise, Isobutane has no hazard beyond that of other ordinary combustible materials. Some potential symptoms are drowsiness, narcosis and shortness of breath. If Isobutane contacts the skin, it will result in frostbite. Isobutane is considered to be practically non toxic but can cause suffocation if inhaled.

4. Isobutane and embalming The three objectives in embalming are sanitation, restoration, and preservation. These goals are helped achieved through using many chemicals and other materials. Isobutane is included in the cosmetics for restoring purposes. Isobutane is also found in aerosol sprays, deodorants and shaving creams. These items are often used in the prep room.

5. Ways that isobutane is used Without even knowing it, many people use I sobutane on a daily basis. The hair spray and make up that women use both contain Isobutane . Shaving creams and cigarette lighters also consist of Isobutane . This chemical has also been known to replace Freon in refigerators .

6. Why I think Isobutane is interesting.. Isobutane is interesting to me because each day I use many things that include this chemical. The hairspray and make up I use and the tool I use to light my cigarettes all include the same chemical which I find interesting.

7. ISOBUTANE Isobutane is a chemical that is used in many relatable items. Items like hairspray and shaving gel include a chemical which has the capability of suffocation. Isobutane is also known to be very flammable. 4 1
