RESOLUTION NO. 2025R - 220
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ALAMO HEIGHTS CITY
COUNCIL ACCEPTING AN UPDATED WGI ENGINEERING FIRM
PROPOSAL TO COMPLETE UPDATED DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS
AT BROADWAY AND OGDEN LANE TO INCLUDE CIVIL AND
LANDSCAPE SERVICES, FINAL DESIGN DOCUMENTS,
CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS, BIDDING THE PROJECT, AND
CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION FOR AN APPROVED
AMOUNT SET BY THE CITY COUNCIL; AND SETTING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, since August 2023, Alamo Heights City Council has been engaged in
identifying potential beautification projects, including improvements to the intersection at
Broadway and Ogden and WGI, the City’s civil design lead and TBG Partners, the City’s
landscape architecture design firm, led Council workshops regarding this project; and
WHEREAS, the project components include enhancing safety, a realigned intersection,
wider sidewalk zones, patio and plaza spaces, landscaped planting zones, and pedestrian-focused
mid-block crossing, pavements, and lighting; and
WHEREAS, on March 10, 2025, City Council approved provided additional guidance to
staff and TBG on design elements to incorporate, and approved an agreement with WGI to pursue
engineering and design services for this project; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the March 2025 meeting, City Council provided additional
guidance to staff and TBG on design elements to modify in order to reduce anticipated construction
costs; and
WHEREAS, the goals for the project as outlined by the City were to increase safety for
pedestrians and vehicular traffic, to create a public plaza and gathering place and improve
functional operations; and
WHEREAS, WGI and TBG have developed options for the City Council to consider that
will achieve the goals for the project as outlined by the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALAMO HEIGHTS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to move forward with
the selected option for the project, which components include enhancing safety, a realigned
intersection, wider sidewalk zones, patio and plaza spaces, landscaped planting zones, and
pedestrian-focused mid-block crossing, pavements, stormwater improvements, and lighting.
Approved option is outlined as Attachment A to this Resolution.
SECTION 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager or designee to issue payment
in the approved budgeted amount in Attachment A and execute all necessary documents.
