Itinerant traders Deal in light and cheap consumer goods of regular use. e.g. :- household utensils, bangles, articles of small value. They do not have fixed place of business. Itinerant traders are found in all cities, towns as well as villages.

HAWKERS AND PEDLARS Carry their products on wheeled carts or on bicycles or Carry their products on their back or head or in baskets or shoulder bags. They move from door to door in residential area and call out the names of articles they are selling.

CHEAP JACKS Do not stick to particular place of business. They hire small shops centrally located in residential areas. Depending upon the scope for sales, they keep on shifting from one locality to another. They also deal in cheap consumer items like fruits, vegetables, ready made garments etc….

MARKET TRADERS Sell their articles on fixed days in different market places. They come with periodicity (weekly, monthly, fortnightly) and their weekly market days is fixed. They are very common in small towns and villages. E.g. : Onam bazaar, local festivals etc.… These traders sell all types of goods like food grains, vegetables, ready made garments, utensils etc.…

STREET TRADERS These traders generally arrange their wares at busy street corners or pavements of busy street of big cities or near railway stations, cinema halls, commercial areas or in and around offices. These retailers deal in low priced products of common use like ready made garments, hand kerchiefs, towels, magazines, newspapers, stationery etc….
