Indian Welding Society (IWS), the leading professional body in this part of the
world is dedicated for the cause of welding in the country.
IWS, registered under societies act, has its headquarters at New Delhi and
serves the welding fraternity since its inception in 2002.
In its 11 years of existence, IWS has conducted more than 80 conferences /
seminars / workshops in welding and allied areas. It has trained over 800 fresh
engineers, 1500 practicing engineers & supervisors, through its courses.
IWS is disseminating the knowledge in welding through its 15 centres and five
zones spread across the country. In the shortest span it has enrolled more than
1100 life members and has close interaction with DVS, German Welding
Society, Messe Essen, Messe Dusseldorf India, Singapore Welding Society,
IL & FS, DST, CII and educational institutions like IIVET, IGNOU, IITS, NITs,
Periyar Maniammai University, VIT University, CEMAJOR, CIT, JSS group,
Y P Patel CE, SLIET, SRATI and so on. It is one of the founder members of
Asian Welding Federation.
The society recognises and appreciates the services of researchers,
technologists, academicians and industrialists by conferring various awards.
Main Objectives of IWS
ÛTo promote the advancement of Welding, Cutting, Reclamation, Hard
Facing and related technologies and other Allied sciences.
ÛTo facilitate exchange of ideas, information, development work, etc.
amongst members; by organising lectures, workshops, seminars,
symposia, conferences and development programmes; publish
periodicals, books, journals and magazines; and develop software and
educational programmes, video films and training packages relating
to the objectives of the society.
ÛTo offer flexible class room / distance learning programmes in various
aspects of welding & related technology that suit the requirement of
various levels.
ÛTo promote professional exchange of information, experience and
advanced training within and among various countries across the globe.
ÛTo give awards, scholarships, fellowships and grants to individuals / teams
of professionals and organisations in regard to specific projects in various
spheres of welding & related technology directly or in association with
other professional organisations having similar objectives.
