JIDF MISSION:
•Lead the Fight Against Antisemitism
and Terrorism on the Web

•Provides news and information through email, Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube, Myspace, Digg, and other popular areas of the web.
•Seeks out, exposes, and reports online content which is against the
Terms of Service of internet companies.
•Focuses on material that promotes Islamic terrorism and
antisemitism.
•Direct action to eradicate promotion of hatred and violence online,
and creating publicity that will cause internet companies to take the
needed action themselves by enforcing their own Terms of Service.
•Focus on websites like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Myspace,
Google Earth, and Wikipedia.

The JIDF has been in the making for about 8 years, but came into
official fruition in May, 2008.  There were five main turning points:
•The Start of the 2nd Intifada in September 2000
•9/11
•The disengagement from Gush Katif (Gaza) in August 2005
•The war with Hezbollah in Lebanon in July 2006
•The massacre at the Mercaz HaRav and the Facebook
groups which went up to honor it in March 2008

JIDF Solidarity with Israel and the IDF
Most of the coverage came about during Operation Cast Lead in
January, 2009. The JIDF stood in full solidarity with Israel and was
doing our part, online.
....I was just surfing the net and i fell across your website. I just want
to say that although I had always dreamed something like this
existed, I never thought it did. I am a soldier with the 101st
paratroopers corps Messayat company of the IDF who just came out
of operation Cast Lead, and the most heart wrenching thing coming
out of there was the amount of hate and lies spread throughout the
internet, specifically Facebook and YouTube. So I just wanted to
personally thank you guys for having the balls to do something about
it. Because as important as it is to face the enemy in combat, it is
equally as important to face him on the internet, where his lies and
hatred spread like wildfire. So THANK YOU, from myself, the IDF,
and the Jewish people.....”
After Cast Lead, we received many meaningful
notes from IDF soldiers, like this one:

trending topic to raise awareness prior to his 23rd
birthday
•Formed a coalition of organizations to help
•Succeeded in getting #GiladShalit to trend in #2
position for nearly 24 hours

JIDF Against Nasrallah on Facebook:
•Exposed many Hezbollah and Nasrallah
Pages on Facebook
•Official Nasrallah page had over 9,000 fans
•Created ACTION ALERTS. Got word out
to thousands of JIDF activists to report
material
•Israeli Knesset Member Avi Dichter also
got involved
•Official Nasrallah Fan Page disappeared
•More work must be done

JIDF Against "Hate Israel" groups on Facebook:
•In Honor of Israel Independence Day, JIDF launched an “ACTION ALERT
Against "HATE ISRAEL" Facebook Content
•While content can “hate” a political entity or government, Facebook seems to
avoid the fact that these groups are havens for a wide variety of antisemitic
and jihadist material
•While we were successful in getting some groups removed, others remain.
•This issue is still outstanding. The largest “Hate Israel” group has nearly
90,000 members. It actively promotes Jew hatred and Islamic terrorism.
Specifically, Hezbollah.

JIDF Against Online Holocaust Denial
•Holocaust denial is Jew hatred
•Discovered and exposed dozens of groups, and hundreds of people promoting and
spreading Holocaust denial on Facebook and YouTube
•Pointed out the Holocaust denial is illegal in 13 countries
•Got Facebook to change policies and make that content unavailable to those countries.
•Inspired international mainstream media coverage of the issue
•Facebook took a very unpopular stand, in support of Holocaust denial on their platform
•Created “United Against Holocaust Denial” group with over 85,000 members
•Petitioned advertisers, making them aware that their ads were appearing beside such
material. Many stopped advertising on Facebook
•More work must be done
