A health worker (male ) will cover a population of 3000 in tribal areas and 5000 in non tribal areas attached to a subcenter . He will make a visit to each family ones a fortnight according to fixed calendar of visit and have his visit to each house marked on the wall in the prescribed form. He will carry out the following function in the village and hamlets allotted to the subcenters . JOB RESPONSIBILITIES OF MULTIPURPOSE HEALTH WORKER
Fever surveillance. Report to health supervisor (male) for Additional action. Acute Diarrheal diseases and Notifiable infectious diseases. Environmental sanitation. immunization. Family planning . Nutrition. Vital events. Primary medical care. Team activities. Record keeping.
Fever surveillance Identify fever cases Make thick and thin blood films of all fever cases Send the slides for laboratory examination Administer presumptive anti malaria treatment to all fever cases Record the result of examination of blood films. Give radial treatment of all malaria positive cases.
Report to health supervisor (male) for additional action He will assist the male health supervisor during focal spray and other remedial measure .he will conduct the contact and mass blood survey and follow up all the positive cases . Educate the community on the importance of blood films examination for fever cases , treatment of fever cases ( insecticidal spraying of houses , larviciding measure and other measures to control the spread of malaria) If the cases of fever has rash , report them to the health supervisor male Take containment measures until the arrival of the health supervisor(male) i.e. isolation of cases with rash Educate the community on the importance of immunization care to be taken in case of an outbreak of fever with rash the importance of reporting all cases of fever with rash to health supervisor (male)
