4. Medical Officer, PHC Captain of the health team at the primary health center. D evotes the morning hours attending to patients in the out-door In the afternoon, supervises the field work. Tour programme All the basic health services including family planning.

5. Cont. Plan and implement UIP as per guidelines and ensure maximum possible coverage of the population in the PHC. He will ensure proper storage of vaccine Proper maintenance of cold chain equipment. He will ensure adequate supplies of vaccine and miscellaneous items required for the effective implementation of uip .

6. Cont. Ensure proper implementation of IMNCI as per guidelines. Visit to schools in the PHC area Regular intervals Arrange for medical check up and immunization.

7. Cont. Organize and conduct tubectomy vasectomy camps. Organize training of all health personnel Ex: ASHA, anganwadi worker, Dais etc. E nsures that national health programmes are being implemented in area properly. Visits each sub-centre regularly on fixed days and hours Provides guidance, supervision and leadership to the health team.

8. Cont. Spends one day in each month organising staff meetings at the primary health centre to discuss the problems and review the progress of health activities.

9. Cont. The success of a primary health centre depends largely on the team leadership which the medical officer is able to provide. The medical officer must be the planner, the promoter, the director, the supervisor, the coordinator as well as the evaluator.

10. Second Medical Officer The second medical officer performs identical duties.
