Joseph Rallo: Reshaping Investment
Banking Through Innovation

Joseph Rallo is the Chief Executive Officer of E.F. Hutton & Co., a historic Wall Street
name he brought back to life in May 2020. With his strategic insight and
forward-looking approach, he transformed E.F. Hutton into one of the most active IPO
underwriters by deal volume in 2022 and early 2023. Rallo’s career spans over two
decades in investment banking, where he has completed more than 500 transactions
and generated proceeds of over $60 million. His leadership blends traditional financial
principles with modern innovation, creating a firm that thrives in today’s dynamic
market.

A Career Built on Expertise and Integrity

Rallo’s professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to excellence and
adaptability. His profound expertise covers an array of financial services, including
initial public offerings (IPOs), special-purpose acquisition (SPAC) offerings, mergers
and acquisitions (M&As), follow-on offerings, debt capital markets, leveraged financing,
restructuring, recapitalization, and risk management. Known for his hands-on
leadership and analytical precision, clients trust him to guide them through complex
financial structures with clarity and confidence.

While completing his studies, Rallo began his career as a Summer Analyst in Equity
Derivatives at Lehman Brothers. After graduation, he joined Citizens JMP Securities,
serving ten years as Vice President in the Financial Institutions and Real Estate
Investment Banking Group. He later advanced to Co-Head of Global Investment
Banking at Aegis Capital Group, leading strategic growth and advising high-profile
clients. These roles shaped his expertise in corporate finance, capital markets, and
leadership, laying the groundwork for the revival of E.F. Hutton.

Leading Through Change at E.F. Hutton & Co.

When Rallo co-founded E.F. Hutton during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic,
he faced immense uncertainty in global markets. Headquartered in Manhattan, the firm
offers advisory and financing solutions for corporations, sponsors, and public-private
partnerships. Rallo and his leadership team focused on innovation, digital
transformation, and resilience. Adopting new technologies and fostering a culture of
collaboration ensured business continuity and consistent client service during
widespread disruption. Under his direction, E.F. Hutton survived and became a leader in
adapting investment banking to a digital-first world.

A Philosophy Grounded in Leadership and Values

Joe Rallo believes outstanding leadership is rooted in ethics, mentorship, and discipline.
His management philosophy centers around six key principles: leading by example,
mentoring and empowering others, maintaining open communication, setting clear
goals, delegating with intention, and managing time efficiently. These principles guide
his personal and professional life, influencing how he builds teams and supports future
leaders in the financial sector.

Philanthropy and Community Engagement

Beyond the financial world, Rallo is an active philanthropist dedicated to positively
impacting globally. He supports causes focused on education, healthcare, and youth
empowerment with his wife. He serves on the boards of St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, and the Rousseau Foundation.
His contributions help fund pediatric research, expand access to music education, and
provide opportunities for underprivileged youth. Additionally, he has supported
organizations like Make-A-Wish America and Keep a Child Alive (KCA), helping children
and families worldwide live with hope and dignity.

Education, Discipline, and Balance

Joseph Rallo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Notre
Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. While there, he played Division 1 Lacrosse and
was a four-time Monogram Winner. He also co-founded the Irish Fighting for St. Jude
Kids, a student initiative supporting pediatric cancer care. In addition to his degree,
Rallo holds FINRA Series 24, 63, and 79 licenses, qualifying him to manage and advise
on investment banking transactions and securities operations.

Now based in New York City, Rallo lives with his wife and children. He begins each day
early, balancing his demanding schedule with family time and personal discipline. His
belief that leadership extends beyond the office defines how he lives—guided by
integrity, empathy, and the constant pursuit of growth.
