Kadir Nelson is an LA based
author and artist, born in
Washington, DC, in 1974. His
art focuses on african American
culture and history. He is best
known for his New Yorker
covers, and for designing album
covers for some music artists.
He also wrote a few books. He
has received numerous awards
for his work, and been
commissioned by famous
people, such as the U.S. House
of Representatives. His art has
been shown around the world
including in the Muskegon
museum of art, Chicago art
institute, and the studio
museum in Harlem.
