Noun Noun is a word used to indicated the name of a person, place, thing or idea in English. Therefore, noun is the most common type of word in English. Example of nouns : “book”, ”car”, ”love’, ”teacher”. The Function of Using Nouns in Sentences As a subject in a sentence Example sentences: Manda put salt into her coffe by mistake. Various Types of Nouns in English Common noun: Objects that are common and often found in every day life. Example Of Common nouns: woman, car, restaurant, house, building. Proper noun: Name of person, place, organization, company, or certain, of specific thing. Example of proper noun: Manda, February, Sunday, hate. Abstract noun: Things that cannot be combined with five. Example of abstract nouns: love, life, peace, happiness, hate. Collective noun: To referbto a collection of things of people as ine unit. Example of collective nouns: troop, colony, box, team, group, family. Uncountable noun: Something that cannot be calculated. Example of Uncountable noun: rice, salt, milk, sugar. Countable noun: Things taht can be counted. Example of Countable noun: gift, glass, daughter, flower, house, kid. Reguler noun: Objects whose plural form is formed by adding the s/es. Example of Regular nouns: apple, baby, book, picture, watch, computer,phone, cloth. Irregular noun: a noun whose plural from changes irregularly. Example of personal pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, you, they, me, her, him, us, you, them. Possessive pronoun: To refer to certain objects or things owned bye someone. Example of pronouns: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, theirs. Relative pronoun: To connect two sentences that explain the object or subject noun. Example of relative pronouns: that, which, who, whom, what, whose. Reflexive pronoun: To refer back sbject in a sentence. Example of reflexive pronouns: Myself, herself, herself, herself.
