Introduction Kill sheet calculations it’s very important Sheet when we decided to kill the well. It used to read the well by determine well parameters/features. Such as Volume, strokes & time Calculations ….why? Maximum Mud Weight of Drilling Fluid….why? MAASP….why? Kill Mud Weight K.M.W. …why? Initial/Final Circulating Pressure (ICP,FCP) …. Why? Draw Step Down Chart….why?

Sequence of kill sheet solution 1-Draw Your Own well profile case. includes The main features. (Vertical, Deviated, Horizontal) Location of each Tubular inside Hole. 2-Put the Data on the profile. 3-Start the calculations .

Answers First of all we’ve to determine 3 things :- A- Drill pipe Length = MD - (DC Length + HWDP Length) = 11095- (630+450)= 10015 ft. B-Open hole Length= MD – Cased hole =11095 – 8856 = 2239 ft. C-Drill Collar=450ft., HWDP=630ft. Total of Drill Collar and HWDP=1180ft < Open hole section So all DC and HWDP in Open hole section. Then the remaining O.H Section will have DP. Length of DP in O.H Section = 2239-450-630= 1159 ft. Length of DP in cased Hole =8856 ft.

Answers 1-Strokes from Surface to bit:- Calculate Drill string Volume (DP/HWDP/DC) For Drill pipe:- =Drill pipe Capacity bbl./ft. x length of drill pipe = 0.0178 x 10015 = 178.267 bbl. For Heavy walled Drill pipe:- =HWDP Cap. Bbl./ft. x length of HWDP = 0.0088 x 630 = 5.544 bbl. For Drill Collar =DC Cap . Bbl./ft. x length of DC = 0.0077 x 450 =3.465 bbl. Total Volume inside String = 187.276 bbl. No of Strokes =Total Volume (bbl.) / POP (bbl./stroke) = 187.276 / 0.109 = 1718 strokes Time=No. Of strokes / SPM= 1718/40 =42.95 mint.

Answers 2 -Strokes from bit to shoe :- Calculate open hole to (DP/HWDP/DC) Volume For O pen Hole / Drill Collar:- =(O.H /Drill Collar) Capacity bbl./ft. x length of Drill Collar =0.0271 x 450 = 12.195 bbl . For Open Hole / Heavy walled Drill pipe:- =(O.H/ HWDP) Cap. Bbl./ft. x length of HWDP =0.0439 x 630 = 27.657 bbl . For Open Hole / Drill Pipe:- =(O.H/DP) Cap . Bbl./ft. x length of DP = 0.0439 x 1159 = 50.88 bbl . Total Volume inside String = 90.72 bbl. No of Strokes =Total Volume (bbl.) / POP (bbl./stroke) = 90.72 / 0.109 = 832 strokes Time= No of strokes / SPM =832/40=20.8 mint.

Answers 3-Strokes from bit to surface:- Calculate cased hole to DP Volume:- =Drill pipe Capacity bbl./ft. x length cased hole ft. = 0.0493 x 8856 = 436.6 bbl. No of Strokes =Total Volume (bbl.) / POP (bbl./stroke) = 436.6/ 0.109 = 4005 strokes So Strokes from Bit to surface = 4005+832 =4837 strokes Time=4837/40= 120.9 mint. Time for surface line “7 bbl.” =7/0.109 =64.22/40=1.6 mint. 4-Time for Complete Circulation =120.9+42.9+1.6= 165.4 mint

Answers 5-Kill Mud Weight:- Kill Mud Weight = + Current M.wt . Kill Mud Weight = +12 =13.12 PPG 6-Initial Circulating Pressure:- ICP = DYNAMIC PRESSURE LOSS + SIDPP ICP = 450 + 650 = 1100 psi. 7 -Final Circulating Pressure:- FCP= DYNAMIC PRESSURE LOSS x =450 x  

Answers 8 -MAASP with current mud weight:- Maximum Allowable M.WT =( =(1700/0.052x8856) + 10.3= 14 ppg . MAASP = (Maximum M.wt . - Current M.wt .)x0.052xShoe TVD MAASP = ( 14 – 12 ) x 0.052 x 8856 = 921 psi. 9-MAASP after circulation of kill mud:- =Maximum M.wt . – K.M.W x 0.052 x Shoe TVD =(14 - 13.12) x 0.052 x 8856= 405 psi.
