What is Kinaray'a? is a member of the Visayan branch of the Philippines language spoken mainly in the province of Antique in the Western region, and also in Iloilo and other parts of Panay Island. Also spoken in some parts of Aklan and Capiz, and even in some parts Negros Occidental. in 1994 there were 380,000 Kinaray-a speakers.
What is Kinaray'a? Kinaray-a is also known as Karay-a, Hamtikanon, Hiniraya, Binisaya nga Karay-a or Bisaya nga Kinaray-a. The name Kinaray-a comes from “ iraya ” (mountain dwellers).
