SELF AWARENESS Self improvement is Impossible Without Self Awareness

SELF AWARENESS Self awareness is the first step in self management. It involves recognizing our strengths and weaknesses, qualities/ defects, regular self reflection, and self evaluation for improvement.

SELF AWARENESS Lack of awareness lies the root of all our problems.

The more you pay attention to your emotions and how you work with it, the better you’ll understand why you do thing you do. The more you know about your own habits, the easier it is to improve those habits.

SELF AWARENESS How aware are you of your own thoughts and feeling? What about your skills and abilities or your attitudes or behavior?

SELF AWARENESS How other people’s perception about you affect your self awareness? Do you want to enhance your relationship with others?

JOHARI WINDOW a model convenient method used to achieve this task of understanding and enhancing communication between the members in a group.

Take a look at your own self-concept and answer the following self-concept inventory in your journal. Give yourself a rating using the scale: 0 = very weak; 1 = weak; 2 = somewhat weak or somewhat strong; 3 = strong; 4 = very strong SELF-CONCEPT INVENTORY ___1. have strong sex appeal. ___2. I am proud of my physical figure. ___3. I am physically attractive and beautiful/handsome. ___4. I exude with charm and poise. ___5. I am easy to get along with. ___6. EMOTION MANAGEMENT Emotion management is an important aspect of self management. Emotional awareness, self control, and the use of relaxation techniques can help us stay calm and focused in a variety of situations.

SELF DEVELOPMENT Self development involves a commitment to continuous learning and improving skills. Openly accepting feedback and seeking opportunities to grow are part of this process.

is the union of elements namely; Body, thoughts, feelings or emotions, and sensations that constitute the individual and identity of a person. SELF

well, it is because knowing and understanding yourself part would help you to make much better decisions and it will improve your decision making habits. WHY KNOWING YOURSELF IS IMPORTANT?

refers to your awareness of yourself. it is the construct that negotiates these two selves. SELF CONCEPT in other words, it connotes first the identification of the ideal self as separate from others, and second, it encompasses all the behaviors evaluated in the actual self that you engage in

Imagine yourself looking into the mirror, how do you see yourself?

it is an idealized image that we have developed over time, based on what we have learned and experienced. IDEAL SELF it could also include components of what our parents have taught us, what we admire in others, what our society promotes, and what we think is our best interest.

is the self that you aspire to be it is how we want to be. include components of what our parents have thought us. the one that hope will possess characteristics similar to that of a mentor or some other worldly figures. IDEAL SELF

it is build on self knowledge. Self knowledge is derived from social interactions that provide insights into how others react to you. ACTUAL SELF it is how we think, how we feel, look, and act. the actual self can be seen by others, but because we have no way of truly knowing how others view us, the actual self is our self image.

that exists between the two selves which is complex because there are numerous exchange between the ideal and actual self. NEGOTIATION
