What type of world are we living in ? We live in a world of Turbulence, Uncertainty, Novelty, and Ambiguity (TUNA ) Demographic change across countries and regions has increased significantly over the years, with implications for progress towards sustainable development Need investments in health, education, life cycle approach, capacity building, etc. Population dynamics and diversity (e.g. youth bulge, increase in the number of females, PWD, etc.) must be understood and integrated into plans and policies in the post-2030 landscape, which will shape future social and economic conditions. 3
What type of world are we living in ? Megatrends: Urbanization: challenges and opportunities Climate change: Disruption of Livelihood, increased vector-borne diseases, adverse effects on maternal and reproductive health Technological advancement: Amid demographic shift (towards low fertility and aging) technology can boast productivity. AI technologies, including Machine learning, the Internet, and Big Data, can impact job markets, necessitating reskilling and upskilling. 4

Stress and anxiety: academic pressure, parental and societal pressure, competitive environment , intensive coursework, frequent exams, tight deadlines and performance anxiety, career anxiety Social and cultural factors: peer pressures, social comparisons , pervasive influence of social media Financial concerns: Economic instability in the country, job insecurity, career path ambiguity, uncertainty about future opportunities, Lack of Mental Health resources: insufficient counseling services, cultural attitudes (stigma, ), etc. Lack of awareness: self-doubt, body image issues, romantic relationships, friendship dynamics, etc. Health and lifestyle issues : irregular sleep patterns, unhealthy eating habits, sedentary lifestyles, etc. Challenges 6
