HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS Health-related fitness is a better match for people who are generally unwilling to exercise at high intensities Health-related fitness activities can be integrated into everyday activities that are often characterized as lifetime activities.

PHYSICAL FITNESS is the capacity of each individual to accomplish daily tasks with alertness and vigor. is divided into five health-related and six skill-related components

Components of Health-Related Fitness

Cardiovascular Endurance is the ability of the heart and circulatory system to supply oxygen to muscles for an extended period of time.

Body Composition is the ratio of body fat to lean body mass (including water, bones, muscles, and connective tissues). Having too many fat tissues is a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and arthritis.

Muscular Strength is the muscle’s ability to produce effort or perform work. Refers to the maximum amount of force a muscle can exert against an opposing force

Muscular Endurance refers to the ability of the muscle to work over an extended period of time without fatigue.

FLEXIBILITY is the ability to move a body part through a full range of motion at a joint.

Components of Skill-Related Fitness

Speed refers to the ability to move rapidly or cover a specific distance in a short amount of time .

Power is the combination of strength and speed representing the ability to generate force quickly.

Coordination Is the skill of harmoniously integrating different body parts and movements to perform precise and controlled actions.

Balance Is the ability to maintain stability and an upright posture, both statically and dynamically

Agility is the ability to move and change the direction and position of the body quickly and effectively.

Reaction Time is the ability to reach or respond quickly to what you hear, see, or feel.
