The importance of eating healthy

Why is it important to eat healthy? Making smart decisions about your food choices can help you manage your weight and reduce your risk of certain chronic (long-term) diseases. When you eat healthy you can reduce the risk of suffering from: Overweight and obesity. Heart disease.

What foods should you not eat? The worst offenders Fatty meats such as sausages, bacon or ribs. Foods that contain full-fat cheese, such as pizza, burritos, and macaroni and cheese. Fried foods. Full-fat dairy foods, such as ice cream or pudding.

What foods should you eat? Healthy eating emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy products, and proteins. Dairy recommendations include low-fat or fat-free milk, lactose-free milk, and fortified soy beverages.

Why is it important to eat healthy? A healthy diet helps maintain good health and prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer .
