‘Lakshya’
Karan shergill (Hrithik Roshan) is a young man who has no goals
or plans for his future. His father and his girlfriend (Priety Zinta)
tell him he needs a goal (Lakshya) in life. Along with his friend
Karan also applies for India military academy (IMA)
Karan’s days in IMA were full of disasters many a times he felt
into trouble. By being upset he leaves the academy without
taking the permission. When he reached home his parents
were not surprised, as his father knew he can’t do it, by hearing
all this Romi (Preity Zinta) his girlfriend calls off to their
relationship as she was disappointed by Karan’s decision of
quitting the academy. Then Karan makes up his mind finally
tries to term with his decision. He goes back to IMA, accepts
the punishment after putting in all hardwork, courage he
became a focused Cadet Leader graduating as an officer
Lieutenant Karan shergill. Karan then started in achieving his
goals.
Karan comes home on a leave after he is again recalled to his
post as his leave is shortcut. He gets back to his post at 3
rd

battalion of Punjab Regiment commanded by Sunil Damle
(Amitabh bachchan) he is than promoted as ‘Acting Captain’.
The battalion CO briefs about the latest situation. The battalion
was assigned to Secure Point 5179. It was a crucial point
dominating the Army’s main supply.

The first part of the assault was successful and it destroyed the
enemy’s screening unit. Karan was than greeted for his bravery
in saving an officer’s life.
In the second part the unit failed to attempt to storm and
capture the Pakistani strong holds on the mountains. The
Pakistanis had advantage of strategic position and made to
suffer Indian unit to heavy losses.
Captain Karan shergill and his group of 12 were next given
orders to encircle the enemy position and attack it from
behind. For this that climbed up 1000 feet wall. After an attack
by Pakistani the group losses commander officer and other
soldiers at last out of 12 only 6 soldiers were left to complete
the operation. The remaining men scale attack the Pakistani
hold during early sunrise. Captain Karan shergill than hosts the
flag which was given him as a duty by Col.Sunil Damle and a
promise given to him by one of his friend officer ‘Akbar’ who
was shot dead by Pakistani during the second attempt
The movie ends with Col. Damle looking out across the
mountains to see Captain Karan shergill hoisting flag atop the
peak.

SCRIPT TO THE MOVIE ‘LAKSHYA’
The movie is about a person who has no future goals or plans
for his life, therefore becoming a responsible person he sets a
goal to become a successful person in his life by giving
dedication, efforts to achieve his goals. The movie teaches us
that don’t quit in your life, before starting any work make
strategy because it makes easy way for achieving a particular
task. It also teaches us that decision making quality prepares
the right path for any person. We should try to do anything
perfectly in our life. We should try to do anything in a good way
by which no one can challenge your work.
