Good morning toastmasters, parents and my dear friends. Today I'm here to present a speech on the topic LAUGHTER. The Bible categorically states that : "A heart that laughs is a good medicine, depressed spirit dries up the bones". I am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine and I'm really sure that you would be one too if you here my speech today . So, what is laughter and in what ways is laughter the best medicine? Laughter is an expression of certain emotions especially mirth of delight by a series of spontaneous, with unarticulated sounds often accompanied by corresponding facial and bodily movements. - Many studies have shown that laughter can boost your energy level and reduce stress. It is a powerful tool for combating stress and conflict, thus making you feel good, improves one’s health and make relationships with others closer and stronger. - Laughter can help to resolve many major workplace issues. - It is a powerful antidote to stress pain and conflict and it is also a strong medicine for mind and body. - It lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects to others, and keep you grounded, focused and alert. - Laughter and humor help you stay emotionally healthy. - A shared laughter is one of the most effective tools for keeping relationships fresh and exciting.
- It relaxes and recharges the whole body. - It boosts the immune system by decreasing the stress hormones and by increasing immune cells and infection fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to diseases. - It protects the heart by improving the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help you protect against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems. - It improves your creativity, facing your challenges with a good sense of humour.
