Snellen’s Laws Of Reflection & Refraction Sana Akhil Maniyar 2 nd Year B.Optom
Laws Of Reflection When you shine an incident light ray at a plane mirror, the light is reflected of the mirror and forms a reflected ray. This behaviour leads to the 2 laws of reflection
[2] Second Law :- The incident ray, the reflected ray and the normal all lie in the same plane. [1] First Law :- The angle of incidence is is equal to the angle of reflection. ∠i= ∠r
Laws of Refraction [1] First Law :- The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal at point of incidence All lie in the same plane. [2] The Second :- The Ratio of the sine of the angle of incIdence to the sine of the angle of Refraction is a constant for a given pair of media.
• The constant is known as the Refractive index. •Sin (Angle of incidence) / Sin (Angle of Refraction)= Constant •Sin ( Angle of incidence) / sin ( angle of Refraction)= Refractive Index
