–Sender has clarity about the message and how it should be

Channel – medium chosen by the sender to deliver
a message
•Direct Channels: Obvious and easily recognized,
under direct control of the sender
–Verbal: words, spoken or written
–Non-verbal: body language, gestures, color,
sound

•Indirect Channels: usually recognized subliminally,
not under direct control of the sender
–Non-verbal: body language, gestures, facial
