Effective leaders possess visionary thinking and the capacity to set clear goals and strategies. They lead by example, upholding ethical principles and displaying integrity .
Differences between Leadership and Management
Metaphors "manager focuses on a tree" and "leader focuses on a forest" Managers generally focus on individual undertakings, subtleties, or explicit issues inside their extent of obligation. They commonly have a more functional mentality , zeroing in on the prompt objectives, goals, and everyday tasks of their group or division. They place a high value on effective execution, and achieving measurable results related to their particular area of responsibility. On the other hand, the leaders emphasis on the "forest" rather than on the "biggest tree in the forest." It means get rid of tubular vision and try to see things on a bigger view .
Characteristics of a leader: 1. Vision and Purpose: A strong leader articulates a compelling vision for the future, instilling purpose and direction in their team or organization. 2. Empowerment: Leaders recognize and nurture the potential in their team members, fostering a culture of trust and autonomy. 3. Governance and Leadership in Healthcare Governance in health is being increasingly regarded as a salient theme on the development agenda. Leadership and governance in building a health system involve ensuring that strategic policy frameworks exist and are combined with effective oversight, coalition-building, regulation, attention to system design and accountability . The need for greater accountability arises both from increased funding and a growing demand to demonstrate results .
