The
HOW
Developing your Strategies and Actions is critical
Use headings as a guide: Strategic, Team, Productivity,
Life Balance and create Strategies and Actions
Use Strategic SWOT Tool in Mindshop
Group SWOT Actions under the headings above
Add to Plan

Leveraging AI
The keys:
•Lock it down – anonymise sensitive data
•Make it write like you
•Learn to write great prompts
•Use it as a sounding board, advisor, coach and consultant
•Don’t trust it

STEP 1:
Give it
some
data
Take screen shots of learning sprint module outputs, diagnostic
results, behavioural profiles, performance reviews, etc.
Use ScreenShot (Mac) or “Windows Key + Shift + S” for a capture
tool that lets you select what you screen shot
Write a short paragraph on yourself eg “I am a Manager in an
Insurance brokerage with 3x direct reports. I report to the Senior
Manager. I aspire to be a General Manager in this firm. My key
challenges are: time management, communication and listening
Save to a folder

Create a powerful
Prompt
You are a leading Leadership Coach and you will be helping
me, Russ, create a personal Leadership Plan. You will
present concise responses using bullets points and professional, simple and concise language. Use UK spelling
and grammar. All Statements and Strategies must be in the
3rd Person. Stop after each step for review, ask for
permission to proceed prior to proceeding to the next step.
STEP 1: DATA UPLOAD
I will upload data for analysis and planning. Do not
commence your review or analysis until I have uploaded all files. Check with me that you have all the data before
moving to the next step.

STEP 2: Review and
Analysis
•Review all information provided
•Provide a paragraph describing my tone, style,
likely behaviours, confidence, emotional
patterns, and tendencies.
•Provide a concise summary of my current
leadership strengths, challenges and the key
issues that I must address moving forward.

STEP 3: The WHERE
Based on information provided like my Personal
Brand, Vision Map and Key Measures, develop a
simple summary of Where I would like to be as a
Leader.
Then Write one short, clear sentence that
describes the type of leader I want to become
over the next 3 years.
Suggested openings:
•“Become a leader who…”
•“Grow into someone who can…”
•“Build the skills to…”

STEP 4:
SWOT
ANALYSIS
(OPTIONAL)
Instructions:
Use my assessments, diagnostics, and background to complete a simple SWOT analysis. Keep language short, clear, and easy to understand.
Strategies that include role playing and peer review will not be appropriate for thye Leaders we plan for, Use alternative strategies instead.
4.1 – SWOT Grid
Write up to 5 short dot points in each of the 4 areas:
Strengths – What are they good at?
Weaknesses – What do they find difficult or avoid?
Opportunities – What could they do more of to grow or improve?
Threats – What risks or behaviours might cause problems?
4.2 – Strategic Action Planning
Based on the SWOT, suggest up to 2 practical actions per question. Use simple, everyday language. Focus on big-picture improvements — not daily tasks.
How can they make the most of their strengths?
How can they improve their weak spots?
How can their strengths help them grow?
How can they avoid future problems or risks?
Note: These actions will be grouped into 3 Strategic Goals in the next step.

STEP 5: The
HOW
Instructions:
Use all available inputs (diagnostics, saboteurs, assessments, SWOT, aspirations, role) to write a clear development plan that sets direction and focus for the next stage of growth. Use the SWOT Actions as the primary actions for each Strategy amending, if required. Strategies must be Annual, or longer, in scope — reserve tactics for 90-Day Plans. NOTE: Role plays and peer feedback are not effective strategies for most Leadership Plans. Please use other strategies
Use concise, simple language in all reports and plans.
Review the Simple Statement of Intent from Step 3 and ensure that all Strategies and Actions align to this Objective.
Strategies (12-Month Focus)
Identify 4 Strategies (including Life Balance Strategy) that support the Leadership Statement of Intent. Strategies should focus on major growth areas, not daily tasks.
Strategies that include role playing and peer review will not be appropriate for Leaders we plan for, Use alternative strategies instead.
For each Strategy, include:
Strategy – 1–2 sentences that describe the high-level focus using plain language (no participant name)
Actions – 2x practical, annual-level actions that support the strategy
Requirements:
Always include 1 Strategy focused on improving life balance.
Use the two lowest scoring areas from the Life Balance Diagnostic to define this goal (do not refer to the scores in the Objective).
For the Life Balance Strategy, include:
Strategy – 1–2 sentences that explain how the individual will improve their wellbeing or energy
Actions – 2 simple, practical strategies to build better habits in those low-rated areas

Step 6: Key Measures (optional)
Instructions:
Use this prompt to generate 3–5 clear, measurable leadership metrics for my
individual plan. Metrics should be easy to track, meaningful, and aligned to
my Strategic Goals.
For each metric, provide:
Metric – A short, clear statement of what will be tracked
Why it matters – 1–2 sentences explaining how this metric reflects progress
Target – A realistic and specific goal (numeric or frequency-based)
Prompt:
Based on the person’s leadership plan and strategic goals, develop 3–5 key
metrics that will help track their progress over 6–12 months.
Each metric must be:
• Easy to measure (e.g. % of weeks, # of tasks, self-rating)
• Focused on behaviour change or strategic development
• Linked to one or more of their strategic goals
Use the Output format below.
MetricWhy it mattersTarget
[Insert
metric
here]
[Explain clearly
how it reflects
progress or
change]
[Insert clear
numeric or
frequency-
based target]

STEP 7: Pulling it all together
Attached is the format for a simple One
Page Plan. You will provide me with the
information required to populate this
plan.
Review all steps in this chat and provide
the following:
•A very concise summary of the NOW
(5 dot points only)
•The Statement of Intent from Step 3
•Key Measures from Step 6

STEP 8: Cascading
Action Plans
Using only the Strategies and Actions from Step 5, complete a cascading Annual Plan in the format below.
| Strategy | Description | Action | Timing|
Instructions:
Work through the Strategies sequentially doing one at a time until all Strategies have been planned
Each Strategy must include:• 1 concise Description• 2x Actions• Each Action assigned to 1x specific Quarter (Q1–Q4) for completion

STEP 9: STOP, PROP AND
REFLECT
•Now you have your draft Plan, take
the time to review it to see if it
makes sense.
•Request AI to make changes and
rework the plan until you are happy
•Upload your plan to the template
•Print it out and stick it on the wall
•Make sure its available on all
devices
