PICTURE OF A LEADER
•Leadership is the ability to develop a
vision that motivates others to move
with a passion toward a common goal.
•“A leader is one who knows the way,
goes the way and shows the way.” A
good leader has a futuristic vision and
knows how to turn his ideas into real-
world success stories.
MY OBSERVATION
After my careful study of many
submissions about leaders, I realize
that:
LEADERS ARE BORN – MADE AND RE-
BORN.
LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP
1. THE LEADING LEADER
• Is born with leadership qualities.
• Sees leadership as a throughout life journey.
• Has open heart for training and re-training.
• Has self-discipline to become a great leader.
LEVELS OF LEADERSHIP
2. THE LIMITED LEADER
• Has little or no exposure to leaders.
• Has little or no exposure to leadership training.
• Has desire to become a leader.
THE LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
1. INSPIRATION
If your actions inspire others to
dream more, learn more, do more
and become more, you are a leader.
The most difficult job for a leader is
to persuade others to follow. It can
only be possible if you inspire your
followers by setting a good example.
2. TOLERANCE
Tolerance is the ability to
accommodate people’s feelings,
attitude, belief and idea for a greater
achievement. A leader is expected to
tolerate people to achieve
purposeful unity.
3. BELIEVING IN PEOPLE
Though, people are difficult to manage.
Despite this, a leader is expected to
believe in people for productivity. A
leader is to strengthen the weak to be
stronger and the ignorant to be learned.
One of the fastest means to believe in
people is to empower them
educationally.
4. SACRIFICE
Sacrifice is the inner strength to give up what you value to
build others to the climax. A good leader is expected to
build people of his nature to carry on with his vision in LIFE.
People value their
TIME
MONEY
PRESTIGE
NAME
TALENT
As a leader, how would you sacrifice all these or any, to
transform another person to grow.
5. LEGACY
A good leader thinks about what people
say behind him and after him. To live a life
full of praises can never equate living a life
of good legacy. A leader thinks about few
seconds while leaving a position, office and
his environment.
A good legacy that worth thinking of is not
sky scrapper neither mass lands but
number of people that are helped to
achieve their DREAMS
WRONG PERCEPTIONS ABOUT LEADING
•People’s mind is filled with many wrong
perceptions about leading. They believe that:
•I can’t lead if I am not at the top.
•When I get to the top, then I will learn to lead.
•If I were on top, then people would follow me.
•When I get to the top, I will be in control.
• When I get to the top, I will no longer be limited.
•“I can’t reach my potential if I am not the top
leader.
•If I can’t get to the top, then I won’t try to lead.
