2.  backed weaves The backed fabrics are those types which employ a face and back weave alternatively on the two sides of the cloth. These weaves may be of a reversible or non reversible nature. These types of fabrics are mainly constructed for two purposes : الأقمشة المبطنة هي تلك الأنواع التي تستخدم نسيج الوجه والظهر بالتناوب على جانبي القماش . قد تكون هذه النسج ذات طبيعة عكسية. تم تصميم هذه الأنواع من الأقمشة بشكل أساسي لغرضين:

4. PRINCIPLE OF CONSTRUCTION : The face and back threads are marked out on design paper. They are marked out according to the order of insertion. يتم تحديد خيوط الوجه والظهر على ورق التصميم. يتم تمييزها وفقًا لترتيب التركيب النسجى المستخدم.

5. The face weave is inserted on the face threads only using normal convention for warp backing and reverse convention for weft backing. يتم إدخال نسيج الوجه على خيوط الوجه فقط باستخدام التقليد العادي لدعم السداء والتقليد العكسي لدعم اللحمة.

6. Classification of backed cloth : Warp-backed cloth. Weft-backed cloth.

7. Warp-backed cloth: Face warp and back warp two sets of warp yarns and 1 set of weft yarns are used to make the backed cloth, called warp-backed cloth. The weft yarn participates in bracing with both the face and back warps. Face warp and back warp are arranged in different proportions to form backed cloth. Here the weft yarns cross over the face warp and under the back warp. Also note that if the face yarn and back yarn are of different types during weaving, the produced yarn should be woven into separate beams and the warp yarn should be of better quality than the weft yarn. A divided draft may be required while weaving this fabric .

9. In this weave,  two series of warp and one series of weft get used. This weave is constructed by using two different weaves. The warp faced weave is selected for  face side and weft faced weave is selected for back side of the fabric. These weaves are woven on dobby looms. The effect of backed weave gets more prominent when face warp and back warp have different colors Obviously two warp beams are required. The ratio of the face to back warp threads is generally 1:1. Sometimes a ratio of 2:1 is also adopted.

11. Uses of backed cloth : 1. In the manufacture of various types of furnishing cloths, such as sofa covers, bed covers, cushion covers, etc. 2. Used in making winter clothes and winter dresses. 3. Used in making military fly boats
