What is legislative branch of
government in the Philippines?
The Legislative branch is authorized to make laws, alter,
and repeal them through the power vested in the
Philippine Congress.
This institution is divided into
the Senate and the House of
Representatives.

Function of
Legislative Branch
The legislative branch of government is responsible for
making laws within a country. Legislatures are made up of
people called legislators who, in democracies, are elected by
the country's population.
The Senate The House of Representatives
Senate is the only body that can concur with
treaties and try impeachment cases. The
president of the Senate is the presiding officer
and highest-ranking official of the Senate.
The House of Representatives has the
power to impeach certain officials and
all franchise and money bills must
originate from the lower house.
