The legal aspects of nursing encompass the laws, regulations, and ethical standards that govern nursing practice. Early Foundations: Nursing, as a profession, was initially unregulated. Care was often provided by nuns, military personnel, or laypersons with little formal training Florence Nightingale (1820-1910 ) Nightingale established the importance of training and education for nurses .
