It is one of Aesop’s Fables. He is an ancient Greek storyteller and creator of numerous short tales about animals, all illustrating human virtues.

The hunter’s target was a hare. The tortoise wins the race while the hare is sleeping. He challenged me to play another tennis game. Three horses crossed the finish line together. He decided to get tattoo, to the chagrin of his parents.
There was once a hare who was friends with a tortoise. One day, he challenged the tortoise a race. The Hare and The Tortoise
Seeing how slow the tortoise was going, the hare thought he would win this easily.
So, he took a nap while the tortoise kept on going.
When the hare woke up, he saw that the tortoise was already at the finish line. Much to his chagrin, the tortoise won the race while the hare was busy sleeping.

Who won the race and how did he win it? The Tortoise. The Hare was over-confident and took a nap in the middle of the race which allowed the Tortoise to get past him.
What is the moral lesson of the story? “Slow and steady wins the race.” “Don’t be overconfident.”
