•Service–doneatthestartofeachrally.
•Server–playerduetostriketheballfirstinarally.
•Receiver–playerduetostriketheballsecondinarally.
•Strike–aplayerstrikestheballifhetouchesitinplaywithhisracketheldinthehand,or
withhisrackethandbelowthewrist.
•Rackethand–handcarryingtheracket.
•Freehand–handnotcarryingtheracket.
•Returnofservice–theballmustbehitafterithasbouncedonthereceiver’shalfofthe
table.Thereturnmustbemadestraightbackoverthenetontotheopponent’shalfofthetable.

tableorifaplayermissesorfailstoreturntheballtotheopponent’stable.
