Subj: Letter of Appreciation

1. 1 take great pleasure in expressing my appreciation for your out-
standing performance of duty from 10 Septenber 1980 to 5 May 1981 while
deployed on board USS RANGER to the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean.

2. While assigned to the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department,
Hydraulic Work Center your professionalism and dedication to duty as

a Hydraulic Technician was a significant contribution to the pro-
duction of your work center. The many Tong hours you worked improving
the test procedures and training your contemporaries in the complex,
demanding tasks of hydraulic repair was evident by the increase in
component availability and reduced turn-around time. Your contribution
materiaily added to the overall readiness of the CVi-2/USS RANGER Team
and the attainment of the U. 5. Navy's goals in the Indian Ocean. Your
perseverance, technical expertise, and "can do” attitude are truly an
example to be emulated by all hands.

3. The superb manner in which you performed is in keeping with the
hiahest traditions of the United States Naval Service and I extend to

you a personal well done. DL
