Line and stop motion introduction Media Arts Benton Middle School Mrs. McMath

Line and stop motion For our next project, we will be using Line (Element of Art) and Stop Motion (Media and Technology Integration). In this presentation you will learn about Line, Stop Motion, and the software program FrameByFrame .

Stop motion

What is stop motion? Stop motion is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. Objects are moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning.

How will we start with stop motion and line? Our first project will start with drawing! You will draw a pattern using the Element of Art: Line. You MUST have a MINIMUM of 45 frames. This creates the best quality stop motion film.

THEN….. You will begin to draw your pattern while capturing each addition to your pattern in FameByFrame . Please bring in any drawing tools from home you would like to use for this project!

timeline 2 weeks to draw patterns and capture work in FrameByFrame 1 week for iMovie editing, exporting . Guidelines review and grading! Timeline will be adjusted as needed.

Have FUN and be CREATIVE!
